| Peteca (Portuguese pronunciation: [peˈtɛkɐ]) is a traditional sport in Brazil, played with a "hand shuttlecock" from indigenous origins and reputed ❤️ to be as old as the country itself.
The same name is given to the shuttlecock-object itself.
Objectives [ edit ]
The objective ❤️ of the game is to hit the shuttlecock-like object (the peteca) with your hand over a high net, similar to ❤️ a volleyball net, causing the object to land inbounded on the opposite court.
The peteca can only be hit once while ❤️ on each side of the net.

Casino games are prohibited in Brazil. Poker, either land-based or online, is unregulated in Brazil as it is considered a game of skill and, therefore, falls outside of the scope of Decree-Law No. 3,688/1941 (the Misdemeanour Criminal Act of 1941 MCA). No specific regulation applies. Brazil effectively banned gambling in 1946; a more-or-less all-encompassing restriction that remained largely in place until 2024, when sports betting was legalized.
